Raiseys Original is a family owned and run business based in Napier, Hawkes Bay, on the beautiful East Coast of New Zealand. Our family has been in the food industry in Hawkes Bay for 60+ years.

Raiseys Originals evolution began in 2002 when we started manufacturing protein powders and diet supplements for several gyms and weight loss programs around NZ under their own brands. This led to a decision to develop our own brand and a range of products we could make to our own standards. Darryl Raisey and ex-Fonterra Food Technologist Sally Gallagher got to work on the individual product formulas and tuned them to a point. A local bodybuilding champion, a young white water kayak demon and an NPC rugby team fitness coach, all heard about this guy who was coming up with some quality, innovative nutrition products and were soon regular visitors round in Ford Road, asking questions and offering ideas of their own. A few years later, our current product range was born and ready to rock! About that time, the name Raiseys Original was created (we are the only Raiseys’ in NZ). Napier graphics gurus, Band came up with our wonderful little coloured symbols and concept and we were underway! We launched the brand Raiseys Original in Feb 2009 and this was completed in Aug 09 with our new website finished and ready.
We are totally committed to supplying New Zealand sports and active people of all levels, with a high quality product at a fair price with a little bit of personal service. If we weren’t…. we wouldn’t put our name on the bag!
Here is some info about the people who are Raiseys Original....
Emma Raisey: Networking, sales and charm.
A mum of two, she is originally from Durban, South Africa and has been living in NZ since 1998. She has a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Waikato University and comes from a career in the Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation field where she has several qualifications also. Emma has really taken to being a Kiwi, learning Te Reo Maori and Kapa Haka. Emma was a top track athlete at school, loves netball and rugby league and is an excellent classical pianist, singer and songwriter. Emma is an absolute networking star and is doing the hard yards out there making contacts, meeting people and letting them know about the NZ sports nutrition company with the big attitude. If you are wanting to talk to someone from Raiseys Original about stocking our products or are just interested in finding out a little more, then you need to talk to Emma.
Kane Raisey: Website, product development and anything else?
Kane has three kids and lives on the hill. (90 steps to the front door!) A native of Napier, Kanes career was based in Auckland as a conveyor belt vulcanizer, installing and repairing conveyor belts in mines, quarries and mills etc. He's swapped his hardhat, grinder and safety harness for a laptop, cellphone and a pen (if he can find one). Kane played Rugby Union for Knottingley when in England and Rugby League for Pakuranga Jaguars in the Auckland OAR competition. He has been NZ Kart Racing Champion twice, runner-up in the Shell Formula Ford Challenge and was twice runner-up in the NZ Sports Car Championship. He also coached his sons football team for 5 years for 2 Counties Manukau Championships. Kane likes getting to the gym (when he can) and was a part-time guitar teacher at Waipawa School up until this year. He’s also on guitars and vocals with his wife Emma in their original acoustic duo.

Darryl Raisey: Manufacturing and swiss army knife.
Darryl has been working in the food and proteins industry for 35+ years. He was the founder of Bacon & Smallgoods HB Ltd which eventually became Medallion Foods and one of NZs biggest bacon companies. Darryl has extensive knowledge and experience right across the food industry and has always been innovative with his ideas. He is a fine engineer also and custom makes most of our machinery to suit our needs exactly and has always been a bit of a “backyard inventor/scientist” hence some of our products are a bit different to some other brands. Darryl has always stood for Quality, Value and Service and these are the principles that we are building this business on also. Darryl was a keen race car driver and held local hillclimb records in his Mini in the late 60s (one stood for 20+ years) and he was more than handy on the squash court. Darryls spare time is usually taken up with doing something “in the shed” and he’s a mean cook!
