UPDATE!
Nov 28 2010
On Sunday November 28 on a rainy Melbourne day, Stephen Pritchard became the first Australian IPF lifter to break the magical 300kg bench press barrier. After placing 6th at the World Open Bench Press Championships earlier this year, the 129.5kg 40 year-old Pritchard continued his efforts ... this time hitting the mark whilst returning a personal best of 20kg and entering an area that only one other great in the Oceania region, Reuben Simanu has ventured. The day unfolded with Pritchard opening on a seemingly effortless 290kg for a 10kg PB, then followed by a faultless 300kg on his second attempt. Not yet spent he had 305kg in his sights, pressed it cleanly and with an inch from locking out the weight it eventually got the better of him. In typically humble fashion, Steve was more chuffed that his 14 year-old son Angus made his Powerlifting debut at the event. Powerlifting Australia
26 July 2010:
Raisey's success again! I lifted at the Australian Nationals yesterday. I had been feeling unwell a few days before and had a stomach bug. When the food was hard to take I got by with extra servings of BUILD.
Anyway... because I had been unwell I decided to take things conservatively. As it turns out I lifted well.
I squatted 375kg, which breaks my own Australian Open record by 10kg; I benched 270kg, which broke the long standing 3lift Oceania bench record by 10kg, I deadlifted 295kg- which gave me a total of 940kg- breaking the Australian open total record by 30kg. I took home the national title, as well as best lifter overall.
Regards,
Stephen

Benching 270kg!
I was raised in the Hawkes Bay and still have strong connections with the area. I first discovered powerlifting back in 1988 in Napier at the old YMCA. However, despite years of training I did not compete until 2005 in Australia. Since then I have won 3 national, 2 Oceania and 1 Commonwealth title. I hold the open Oceania bench only records across 3 weight divisions, as well as an Australian open squat record. Earlier this year I not only defended my Oceania bench title, but also took out the awards for best open and best overall lifter. 2010 looks to be a huge year, with the world bench champs in May, the Australian natiionals in July and the Oceania 3 lift champs in December.

Stephen lives in Melbourne Australia but grew up right here in Napier where we knew each other as teenagers. I hadn’t seen him for about 15 years and just by chance we got talking and I sent him some samples…He loved the products and we went from there! Stephen was using Raiseys Original Honey & Whey, ISOL8 and HYDRATE to help him prepare for his successful 2010 Oceania Champs campaign and also for the lead up to the 2010 World Bench Champs in Texas USA.
